Everything you need to know about the AI implementation service for institutions.

The AI Implementation

It is a consulting and implementation service for AI services designed specifically for libraries. We co-create with your team and community AI services that are useful, safe, and operable. The solution is installed and the capability remains at your institution — total knowledge transfer.

About the Services

Five main services:

  • 24/7 Library ChatBots: patron assistance, reference, and research with human escalation.
  • AI-accelerated cataloging: target of ≥70% faster, with human validation.
  • Semantic discovery: conversational search across catalog, repository, and collections.
  • Decision analytics: KPI dashboards, collection development, and impact reporting.
  • Governance and security: policies, roles, controls, and a critical AI literacy training plan.

Four adjustable modalities based on your adoption pace and budget:

  • A) Diagnostic sprint + prototype (4–6 weeks): prioritizes one use case and delivers a working prototype.
  • B) Guided implementation (8–12 weeks): one service implemented, documented, and operated by your team.
  • C) Agile transformation (4–6 months): three integrated services with certified training and metrics dashboards.
  • D) Library AI Factory (9–12 months): annual roadmap with multiple services, AI governance, and continuous improvement.

Regardless of the modality, every engagement includes:

  • Project plan
  • Certified internal training program for your team
  • Co-creation labs
  • Operational implementation with technical documentation
  • KPI dashboard with results reporting
  • 12 months of post-implementation support (monthly meeting)

We design a modular architecture so your library retains control. Whenever possible, we prioritize open-source, self-hostable software. If commercial technology is chosen, it is configured to minimize risks (data minimization, permissions, retention, traceability). Typical integrations include ILS/LSP (Koha, Folio), repositories (DSpace, InvenioRDM), LMS, and e-resource platforms.

Write to us at iia@elibro.com with the subject "iIA institutional proposal" including your institution, country, and primary need. We will schedule an executive diagnostic session (90 minutes, no cost) to prioritize the highest-impact, lowest-risk use case and propose a plan with costs and timelines.
