Free AI micro-courses for libraries.
The iIA
The Innovation and Artificial Intelligence Unit (iIA) is eLibro's initiative to promote the responsible adoption of AI in libraries and in educational and cultural institutions. Its focus is critical, responsible and human-centered AI.
iIA offers three service lines:
• Free micro-courses: 2-hour live, topic-introductory sessions with a learning certificate. Open to the entire library community.
• Specialized courses: in-depth programs with guided practice, small groups, personalized feedback and institutional deliverables ready to use. From US$56.
• AI implementation: human-centered consulting and implementation of AI services for libraries (ChatBots, cataloging, discovery, analytics, governance), with full knowledge transfer.
Besides courses and external consulting, iIA:
(1) implements AI solutions within eLibro to improve the platform and user experience;
(2) guides eLibro's transition toward a continuous innovation model; and
(3) offers customized, exclusive programs for institutions.
Email iia@elibro.com including your name, institution, country and the reason for your inquiry. For institutional proposals use the subject “Institutional iIA proposal”.
Free Micro-courses. What they are and how they work.
A free 2-hour live session, introductory by topic, with a learning certificate upon successful completion of the assessment. All sessions are held via Microsoft Teams (webinar version).
No. Each micro-course is independent and does not require prior courses or technical knowledge. In some cases basic tools are recommended, but they are not mandatory.
For the first half of 2026 there are 9 micro-courses scheduled, each on a different topic. The full calendar with all dates and registration links is published at elibro.com/en/iia-micro-cursos
Each micro-course introduces a topic in 2 hours. If you want to go deeper, there is an associated specialized course that develops the topic across multiple sessions with guided practice and institutional deliverables. In the micro-course table you will see the “Advanced Course” column indicating which paid course corresponds to each micro-course.
No. Micro-course sessions are not recorded under any circumstances. If you cannot attend live, consult the records available in NotebookLM. If a session is canceled for any reason, it will be rescheduled on another date and an email will be sent to registered participants to inform them.
Registration
1) Go to: https://elibro.com/en/iia-micro-cursos.
2) Choose the micro-course you are interested in.
3) Click the Registration button.
4) The Microsoft Teams registration form will open with your local time already converted.
5) Complete the form and accept the calendar invitation sent to your email.
The full semester calendar is published from the start with all registration links. You can register for any micro-course in the semester at any time, as long as seats are available.
Yes. After completing the registration form, you will receive a personal link by email to join the Microsoft Teams session. This link is personal and non-transferable: do not share it, since it will be used to confirm your participation and manage the issuance of your certificate.
No. You must register separately for each micro-course you want to take. Each one has its own registration form.
There may be a maximum capacity. If a micro-course is full, we invite you to register for another topic or write to iia@elibro.com to be notified of future editions.
No. Due to data protection regulations, each person must complete their own registration form directly in Microsoft Teams.

Assessment and Certificate
To obtain the certificate, you must meet two conditions:
• Live attendance: be connected for at least 80% of the live session.
• Passed assessment: successfully complete the Microsoft Forms assessment with more than 80% correct answers.
Both conditions are mandatory. Certificates are not issued for attendance only or assessment only.
The assessment form will be open from the day after the micro-course and up to 15 calendar days afterward. After that period, the form closes automatically and will not be reopened.
Yes. You may complete the form as many times as you want within the 15-day window. Only the attempt with the highest number of correct answers will be considered (including the personal data entered in that specific attempt).
The personal data you enter in the assessment form is what will appear on your certificate. Write your full name and email exactly as you want them to appear on the diploma. Responsibility for entering this information correctly is 100% on the participant. eLibro will not correct data entered incorrectly due to oversight or for not carefully reading the instructions in each field.
The certificate will be issued between 30 and 60 calendar days after the micro-course. It will be sent directly to the email address you provided in the assessment form. Add iia@elibro.com and santiago@elibro.com to your contacts to prevent the message from going to spam.
No. We only reissue certificates if the error was made by eLibro. If the participant entered the data incorrectly, the certificate is issued exactly as the form was completed.
Assessment forms are not reopened, and certificates are not issued after the deadline closes. We invite you to register for future micro-courses.
Yes. You must be connected live for at least 80% of the session time. This is verified automatically through Microsoft Teams.
Records (NotebookLM)
The full class transcript, the sources used, and AI artifacts (summaries, concept maps, source-based questions) organized in a Google NotebookLM notebook.

No. The records are a complementary resource for reviewing content. Certificates are only issued to those who attend live and complete the assessment. The records do not provide access to the assessment form or the certificate.
Open sessions on social media
Exceptionally, yes. Some sessions may be streamed openly through our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, or YouTube). These sessions are open and do not require prior registration. The recording remains available on the social network where it was streamed.
Yes, under the same conditions. Certificates are only issued to those who attend the live stream and successfully complete the assessment form within the deadline. The form link is shared at the end of the live stream. Watching a later recording does not grant a certificate.

Click Join webinar → Continue in this browser → Allow microphone/camera → ⋯ More → Settings → Devices to choose Speaker and Microphone → Join now. Use updated Edge/Chrome and headphones.

This is normal. Keep the window open until the host admits you.
Close apps using camera or bandwidth, move closer to the router or use Ethernet; try another network or disable VPN.
Check Spam and search for “Microsoft Teams,” “Teams Webinar,” or the micro-course title. If you still can’t find it, register again at elibro.com/iia.
