System Requirements
Operating systems: Windows / macOS
Compatible browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari, Opera
Mobile devices: eLibro Reader app, available on Google Play and the App Store for Android and iOS.
Access Types to eLibro
1. Username and password access
- Each user has their own username and password.
- Once created, the account allows access from any location and device.
- Users can be authenticated by IP, referred URL, administrator approval, or the administrator can pre-create accounts from the librarian module.
- It is also possible to authorize institutional IP ranges for so-called "anonymous access".
2. IP Authentication
- First time only: the user creates a personal account and then accesses from anywhere with their credentials.
- Always required: the user must be within the authorized IPs in every session.
To add or modify IP addresses, contact Support.
3. Referred URL
- If your institution has a virtual campus with secure access, you can place the link to eLibro on its internal pages.
- Users coming from that URL are automatically authorized.
- Send the URL to the Support department to enable access.
Personal Account or Personal Shelf
A personal account enables features such as:
- Download page ranges or chapters.
- Download complete books for offline reading via the App.
- Save titles to your personal shelf.
- Write notes and highlight paragraphs with colors.
- Create folders and share them with other users.
Create a personal account
- Go to your eLibro site (check with your institution's librarian).
- Click "Register" in the top right menu.
- Enter a valid email — it is needed to recover your password.
Registration option not showing?
Your site may use Ezproxy, Shibboleth, OpenAthens or SAML. In that case, access is managed directly by your institution. Contact your librarian or write to us at ayuda@elibro.com.
Forgot your password?
- Go to your eLibro site.
- Click "Sign in".
- Select "Forgot your password?"
- Enter the email you used to create your account.
- You will receive instructions by email.
Searches

You can start a search from the main search box, or from Advanced Search, Filtered Search, Subject Search, or Collections.
Available criteria:
- Keyword and full text
- Title, ISBN, Author, Publisher
- Publication year, Collection, Language
Document Detail Page

The detail page shows the number of copies available at the institution, copy and print permissions, and whether the title is available for online reading and/or full download.
In most cases, books have unlimited access. However, some titles may have a limited number of copies or be in loan mode.
Online Reader / Toolbar

Left panel: table of contents and book index.
Top bar: page navigation, in-text search, zoom, get title link, notes.
Right panel: eLi (AI), audio, bookmarks, notes, highlighting, shelf, bibliographic reference, summary mode, copy, print, dictionary, Wikipedia, translate, biographies and maps.

eLi is located at the top of the toolbar. It appears gray by default; if shown in green, it indicates that title already has questions answered by other users.

Clicking the icon expands the tool, allowing you to submit queries or review previous questions from other users.

When you select a word or phrase, a pop-up menu appears. From there you can click the eLi icon to submit a query about the selected text.
Downloading Documents via the App
The eLibro Reader app is free and available for Android and iOS from the Digital Library.
- Add the title you want to download to your Personal Shelf.
- Click "Download" — a screen will appear to install the app if you don't have it yet.

- If you already have the App installed, follow the on-screen instructions.
Administration Module / Admin User
Librarians with administrator privileges can:
- Export the complete list of enabled titles.
- Configure the number of days for book loans.
- Obtain detailed usage reports.
- Customize the site with the institution's logo.
- Manage user accounts: add, remove, or block.
Before removing or adding a user, contact ayuda@elibro.com.
